Eligibility of clientele base of PLI under 'Professionals' category-reg
The clientele base of PLI was extended to cover employees of private educational institutions affiliated to recognised boards of Secondary / Senior Secondary education, Professionals and employees of companies listed with NSE/BSE in September 2017.
2. In this connection, suggestions have been received from Circles to extend the benefits of PLI to different categories of professionals. The suggestions have been examined in PLI Directorate and it has been decided that following categories of professionals are eligible for benefits of PLI policy:
(1) All types of Degree/Diploma /Post-Graduate Diploma holders in professional courses such as management, computer application, software development, agriculture, horticulture, journalism, mass communication, hospital administration, pharmacy, dental and veterinary courses, hotel management and catering technology, tourism and travel management, tourism administration, fine arts, fashion design, interior design, web design, gem, jewellery and diamond design, textile design, leather design, sports science and technology, pilot, visual communication, nutrition, physiotherapy, audiology, speech therapy, optometry, fisheries, home science, food production, JBT, DIET, B.Ed, M.Ed etc. Such degree/diploma should be from a Central/State Government recognised institution.
Journalist and employees of print, electronic and digital media companies. (iii) Lawyers and employees of State Bar Councils.
(iv) Regular employees working in Endowment Department of temples and religious places.
Nurses, para-medical staff, technicians and regular employees of private and government hospitals.
(vi) All types of ITI courses recognised by Central/State Government.
(vii) AMIE / Degree/ Diploma in civil, electrical, mechanical, architecture, agriculture and other branches of engineering recognised by Central/State Government.
(viii) Chartered Accountants, Company Secretary, Cost and Work Accountants of
ICAI/ICSI/ICWA. 3. Identification of different categories of professionals for PLI policy eligibility is an ongoing process and will be carried out as and when requests are received from Circles for expansion of PLI clientele under 'Professional category.
4. This issues with approval of the competent authority.
